Fresh Kale Chips

posted in: Recipes, Snacks 4

Hey guys. It’s been a long time. We can explain in two words: WE MOVED. Yup, pretty much sums up our summer with the exception of multiple road trips & lots of family time. When life comes on strong I’m really not the best at staying on top of things. So lets just say I think I have things under control over here? I hope your summer was absolutely amazing & of course- GLUTEN FREE!

I’ve been dying to share this nutritious & delicious snack that we’ve been snacking on ALL summer. Fresh Kale Chips! If I could be completely honest with you.. I am all for putting greens in my smoothie butttt it’s totally not my favorite. Lately the rage is all about these green smoothies but for some reason I have the hardest time putting kale in there. Don’t get me wrong, I have enjoyed some of them & I’m always grateful for the added greeness to my diet but once I found these perfectly delectable kale chips, my first thought was, “I’ll never have to add green in my smoothies again!!!” Haha!

We have these AT LEAST 2-3 times a week! Talk about getting your veggie serving in for the day! We eat them by the bunches. I was so skeptical about kale chips when I would see them on Pinterest. Kale has such a strong, bland flavor in my opinion & I couldn’t imagine them tasting good without dressing them up somehow. Man, I couldn’t be more wrong! But don’t let me convince you! Try it out for yourself! Fresh kale chips are super easy to make! AND kale is in season in the fall so right now it’s a cheap, healthy snack! I even broke it down for y’all so you’ll have no doubts!

They are a great alternative to your salty, greasy potato chip since these come out delicate, crunchy, crispy. DEVINE. Sometimes I under cook mine to get them a little chewy but some family members like them a little extra crispy so we cook some a littler longer.

DISCLAIMER: This will not turn you into Superman although you might feel like it by eating straight up super food.

I’m so glad you shared this. I have been wanting to try kale chips for a while now, and this happens to be the perfect time since I have two large bunches of kale sitting in my fridge that I, till now, haven’t been quite sure what to do with. Thanks for the inspiration!

Oh man that is awesome timing! We inhale these things so if you like them as much as we do, you’ll be glad you have two bunches! Let me know how you like them! Thank you for commenting!

So I finally tried them and they were delicious! I burned two batches before I had success, but it was worth it. I found that in my oven 5-6 min was all they needed. Next time I might try a slightly lower temp also. I’m so excited to make them again!

Oh I’m so glad! Wow, 5-6 minutes! That’s awesome and amazing that the difference in elevation cuts the cooking time in half! (Sorry I couldn’t respond sooner, my website was having issues and I kept trying to approve and respond and it would NOT work!!!)
