Have you seen these adorable Oreo-Reese’s Turkeys all over Pinterest? They are just the cutest! Well we found a way to make them gluten free! We replaced Oreos with gluten free “Oreos,” Woppers with Milk Duds and we all know Reese’s are already gluten free ;).

We had the hardest time keeping the Reese’s from being eaten! I had no idea a family of 8 could go through a large package so fast! Haha! This is the perfect treat to make for a friend, neighbor, bring to a party, or just have a fun afternoon making these with your kids! We sure had fun!

Your supplies:

Great Value Gluten Free Cocoa Sandwich Cookies
Reese’s Mini Peanut Butter Cups
Milk Duds
Wilton Candy Eyeballs
Decorating Icing
Brachs Candy Corn
Tollhouse Chocolate Chips

Start by melting 1/4-1/2 Cup chocolate chips. Be sure not to burn the chocolate. Heat it in the microwave for 20 seconds and stir, repeat, until creamy. Place chocolate in the fridge (just enough to thicken the melted chocolate slightly) while you prep your items to make them easily accessible. Once you have all your items accessible, bring your chocolate to the table.

To assemble the feathers: push one candy corn gently into the middle edge of your cookie. Use that as a guide and push two more candy corns into place on either side of the first.

Carefully unwrap one miniature Reese’s and, using a spoon, place a dab of chocolate on the top. Place it (dab side down) towards the bottom of the cookie. Dip half of a Milk Dud in the chocolate and place directly above the Reese’s on your cookie.

Break off the white end of a candy corn, lightly dip the broken edge in chocolate, and place it on the milk dud. Lightly dip the back of two eyes in chocolate and place them on the Milk Dud. NOTE: We had a bit of trouble keeping the eyes from sliding. If this happens, simply place the chocolate in the fridge for a couple minutes and it will firm up, causing a better grip.

Put a dab of red frosting next to the beak. Place in a cool area for 1-2 hours.

OPTIONAL: Split a cookie in half, very carefully. Using the cream side, gently apply minimal pressure to place your turkey on the base.
